DIABETES: A SILENT KILLER

Diabetes is a condition in which the amount of glucose present in blood increases more than recommended normal level .  The intake of sugar is very important for human being as sugar is regarded as a source of immediate energy. Glucose in blood is very necessary and a hormone called insulin helps in travelling it to the cells where it is used as energy .Diabetes is a disease that you can  cure yourself too.

Diagnosis at time may extend many lives . It is further known as the silent killer because it is very easy to ignore the symptoms of diabetes. It is caused by many reasons like having excessive medication at childhood for various things like deforming, typhoid, jaundice etc and over eating of sugar, cell's resistance for insulin, hereditary cause etc. 

Symptoms of diabetes

·         Over hungerIf you are feeling more hungry without any changes in daily routine then this could be the signal to see the doctor. And over eating can cause increase in glucose (blood sugar) .

·         Increased thirst and urination– kidneys are unable to absorb excess sugar from the body in this disease. And fluids from other tissues also come out with urine and makes you feel dehydrated and increase your thirst. Insure that you are not going toilet more than 7 times a day. And if the frequency of going bathroom is increasing than you should see the doctor.

·         Fatigue- frequent exhaustion is also a symptom. If you are feeling tired quickly and weak then just be concerned about it.

·         Late in the healing of wounds

·         Vision problem- If your eyes vision is not proper like you are unable to see the things clearly or i can say your vision is blurred then this might be a problem related to diabetes. It happens due to shifting of fluid and cause swelling in lenses of your eyes. And this can also cause blindness if left untreated .

·         Extra darkness at some points- Excessive darkness at you neck, elbows, knees, underarms is also a red signal .

·         Signs of Aging- if you are feeling early aging symptoms in your body then it can be because of diabetes.


Effects of diabetes

·         Lots of care – A diabetic patient have to take care of self more than anything each and every should be in control like feeding habits , weight etc.

·         Never ending expensive treatment

·         Damage of blood vessels – poor blood circulation can cause damage of blood vessels.

·         Irritation/frustration – weakness and frequent exhaustion causes irritation from everything and this may spoil the relationships as well. Due to restriction of many thing cause an aversion for everything. Fluctuations of sugar level also causes various mood disorder like anxiety, irritability, sleeplessness, appetite irregularity, forgetfulness Etc.


·         Problems in decision making – If your body is exhausted ,it is not possible that your mind will work properly to take good decisions .

·         Fear- A diabetic person always over concerned about Increasing diabetes and about what to eat ,what not. Because diabetes need much control on diet, lifestyle, daily routine etc, what to eat or not, and a question whether if it get worse then.So these kinds of fear a diabetic suffers. Life of a diabetic is very limited.So a person who can not control on habit may suffer from depression after diabetic

·         Depression- Diabetes and depression are complementary to each other . Depression may cause diabetes and diabetes can cause depression. As diabetes is due to hormonal imbalance and hormones are controlled by mind so any mental imbalance can cause diabetes.

·         Pregnancy
·         Other diseases
·         Over eating
·         Excessive weight
·         Feeding habits



Tips for a diabetic person



·         Regular exercise – risk is more if you are carrying extra weight

·         Have food after having the advice of doctor- always ask your doctor before you eat or you can make a chart with the help of your doctor.

·         Check carbohydrates level every day

·         Go to the doctor time to time – diabetes harms body organs so see the doctor time to time so that he can test your eyes, kidneys and other tests related to diabetes

·         Be hydrated – just drink water time to time but not more than 4 litres a day .

·         Have a good quality sleep– This is the basic need for human body to take proper sleep atleast 6-7 hours a day.

·         Include green tea in your daily routine

·         Keep your skin moisturized.

·         Do not take excessive medicines but take important ones at time.

·         Enjoy your life to the best –  You are a diabetic person it does not mean that you can not have a piece of cake . You can surely have but just for taste the small one. Or can add sugar free to make it some sweet.
